Mazars extends its coverage and strengthens its teams in Latin America and South Africa

Mazars continues to spread its international scope of intervention by signing a correspondence agreement in Ecuador, opening new office in Mexico and reinforce capacities in South Africa.

A new correspondence agreement in Ecuador

Mazars continues to spread its international scope of intervention by signing a correspondence agreement in Ecuador, effective from August 1st 2013, with the firm Hansen-Holm based in Quito and Guayaquil. Created in 1955 in Lima, Hansen-Holm gathers 50 professionals, including 3 partners, for a global revenue around 1.2 M$. Hansen-Holm is divided in two entities and offers a wide range of services:

  • Hansen-Holm & Co renders Audit services, including financial audit, operational audit, Forensic, agreed upon procedures, and internal control work.
  • Hansen-Holm Partners renders consulting services including financial consulting (financial diagnostic, transition to IFRS, financial evaluation of projects, company valuation, financial restructuration, Business plan), tax consulting , risk Management, HR consulting, Organization and governance consulting, training and education.


A new Mazars office in Mexico

A recent combination operation led by Mazars in Mexico also reinforced our presence in the country, with the opening of a new office, in Mexicali, Baja California, born out of the integration of GMV Asociados S.C. Following these integration, Mazars can now serve its clients in 8 cities in Mexico, with a team of 235 professionals offering services in Audit, Consulting, Tax and Outsourcing.


Reinforced capacities in South Africa

After East London and a new team in Cape Town last year, Mazars in South Africa successfully concluded an agreement with two offices of the PKF network, in Pretoria and Bloemfontein, effective at 1st September 2013. The Pretoria practice welcomes five partners and 52 staff to the existing Mazars Pretoria compliment, while the Bloemfontein office headed by Cobus Kritzinger, adds a further 3 partners and 45 staff in a city where Mazars has not been represented for a few years.

All these mergers together with organic growth equates to more than 30% growth in the past year for Mazars in South Africa. Mazars is fully geared for this expansion and has been integrating all its offices to enable a consistent service offering to be offered to clients countrywide, with now over 900 professionals in 13 offices in the country.
